Trainee Associate Teachers
We are currently piloting Trainee Associate Teacher roles. If you would like to apply please ensure you’ve read the detail below before submitting your application using the standard form.
We are currently seeking applications from individuals who plan on instrumental teaching becoming an integral element of their professional life. We would like to work with a skilled musician who is keen to learn and who will be demonstrably proactive in turning the theory behind instrumental teaching into practical, engaging and enjoyable lessons for the young people who learn with us. Whilst previous teaching experience would be an advantage, in this case it is not essential as our Team Leader will closely mentor and shape the trainee teacher’s time with RMT, providing them with clear methodology, valuable teaching guidance and professional support as they progress.
RMT Trainee Teacher roles commence termly. In the first half of Term you will work alongside your Team Leader to deliver recruitment sessions in specifically selected schools, whilst also building up your working knowledge of the Trust and starting to look at lesson plans. In the second half of the Spring Term you will start teaching in the schools where recruitment sessions were successful. This is most likely to be small group lessons. Whilst this delivery would be as a solo teacher, regular liaison with your Team Leader will be in place to ensure the role develops in a positive, constructive manner.
RMT aims to employ reliable, flexible and committed individuals who are good at communicating with both children and adults. Successful applicants will be subject to DBS checks. Applicants must be able to commit to working for 10 weeks per academic term.
RMT is an equal opportunities employer. Its policy is to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment because of race, colour or nationality, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, religion or disability, or is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justifiable.
RATES
