Piano/Keyboard Team Leader

Sharon started playing the piano at 11 years then the double bass a couple of years later. Shortly after that she won a scholarship to study at the Junior Department of the Welsh College of Music and Drama. From there she went on to complete a music degree at Huddersfield University specialising in performance, a performance diploma and teaching diploma at Trinity College of Music, and an MA in music from the Open University.

Sharon has been a piano teacher for over 34 years. She also teaches Wider Opportunities Keyboard, Adult Group Keyboard lessons, Double Bass, Music Theory, and conducts the Kingston Training Strings Orchestra and Youth Strings Orchestra. Having taught in a variety of settings, Sharon enjoys introducing students to the many different styles of music and discovering new music for herself.

In her new role as Piano Lead, Sharon is particularly looking forward to developing a range of experiences for the pianists of Richmond Music Trust.
