Miriam is a Twickenham-based Music Therapist and classically-trained harpist. Having received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Southampton in 2017, she has since cultivated several years of experience working and volunteering with individuals of all ages within a range of different roles and settings. Alongside her main work in performance and learning disability support work, this has included experience supporting children with special needs as well as adults living with mental health difficulties and neurological disorders.

Miriam went on to study MA Music Therapy at the University of Roehampton in 2021, where she gained further clinical experience working for the NHS in school/nursery settings to support infants, children and adolescents with mental health needs, profound and multiple learning disabilities, social communication difficulties and complex developmental needs. She now works as a qualified Music Therapist within RMT’s Community Outreach team alongside additional work supporting older people with dementia through Otakar Kraus Music Trust. She also continues her work as a residential support worker for adults with learning disabilities, whilst performing on the harp at various concerts and events.

Miriam is psychodynamically trained, seeking to use music and the relationship between therapist and client as a means to explore an individual’s inner world and support their unique needs. She is also informed by developmental and neurological approaches, having received certification in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) from the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy in 2023.® As well as the harp, Miriam plays the violin, piano and guitar.
